DB Tha General - Upgrade ‘Em 2
“I’m a sharp nigga, real smart nigga. You a bitch, you a fake, you a mark nigga. I spark niggas like jumping cables. We supposed to be brothers? That’s that Kane & Abel. Nobody can save you but that man upstairs if you doing to much say a motherfucking prayer, you scared!”
I had the chance to meet DB about 6 months ago at his music vice shoot along side DaVinci, and Main Attrakionz. He was a really cool dude, but he was wearing USPA, soooooooooo let that settle in. This is some of the most relentless rapping I’ve heard in my 19 years of life.
The outro to this song might be one of the best things I’ve ever heard.
I am excite.
Like they said about the Titanic in that one Ghostbusters movie, better late than never. We’re approaching 15 years past-due on this account. Is this the Chinese Democracy of rap? Only time will tell.
I do like the idea that a pub best represents Bay Area’s rap history, and a terrible nightclub where sparklers constantly threaten your knuckle-hair represents the present.
I still haven’t listened to all 3 Block Brochure’s in their entirety…
Richie Rich “Don’t Do It” (1990, Big League Records)
Classic Bay Area record from the legendary Richie Rich, and the inspiration for Husalah’s recent “Da Mob” track from Tha Jacka’s Mobbin Thru The West release on Thizz Nation (which is seemingly putting out like 10 records a month at this point.)

Everyone should follow spaceagehustle
NhT Boyz f/ Winstrong “Burn Slow” (2011, directed by Aris Jerome)
I could do without weed songs that have generic sounding reggae choruses, but these dudes can rap circles around a lot of young West Coast artists being put on right now (I see you Pac Div and New Boyz).
Winstrong? How much is Barrington Levy charging now a days?
